Rental Turnover Cleaning Checklist for Prescott Landlords and Property Managers

Freshly cleaned rental unit ready for a new tenant in Prescott

Every day a rental sits empty costs money. In Prescott, Prescott Valley and Chino Valley, a fast, consistent turnover clean is one of the easiest ways for landlords and property managers to cut vacancy days and keep new tenants happy from move-in day.

Here's what a complete turnover clean should cover, and what to look for in a cleaning vendor.

  • Inside all cabinets and drawers, wiped and crumb-free
  • Countertops, backsplash, sink and faucet
  • Stovetop, range hood and filter
  • Dishwasher door, seals and edges

  • Baseboards, door frames and doors

Whole unit

  • Light switches and outlet covers wiped

  • All floors vacuumed and mopped
  • Balcony or patio swept if included
  • Trash removed from the unit

What to look for in a turnover cleaning vendor

Insurance and paperwork. Your vendor should carry general liability insurance and be able to send a certificate of insurance (COI) naming your company as additional insured, plus a W-9 for your records.

Background-checked cleaners. Your cleaners will be in units with keys and lockbox codes. Ask whether every cleaner is background-checked.

Fast turnaround. The goal is getting the unit rent-ready within 24 to 48 hours of the request, not next week.

Consistent results. The same checklist on every unit means fewer callbacks and fewer tenant complaints.

Clear per-unit pricing. You should know the price by unit size before the job starts, with no hourly surprises.
